Side bar widgets are finnaly here! Well, at least in beta mode anyway. We can now add widgets, but you can only add one at the moment. It's still a work in progress folks, give the poor folks at Vox a break. At least we have the power. (I feel like He-Dork) Think of all the creative widgets that you can place here. How about your favorite music, or recipes, news, or weather. Maybe your favorite Moo card of the day, or even your Food-Ku of the day or week. Be imaginative folks. Here is a good place to start in making your own widgets. http://www.widgetbox.com/
The only downside that I saw is that I don't have the power to place the widget where I want. If I choose to display my posted videos, photos, latest comments, etc etc, then my widget is left to the very bottom of the screen. Well by george, I'm a picky little nerd and I want mine at the top. (ummmm..hellooooo Vox) It would be nice if we could control the order in which our Side Bar apps were displayed. Perhaps somewhere in the Customize Your Side Bar application allow us to put them in the order that we wish. I had to turn all of my side bar apps off just so that my widget was on top. Not that anyone wants to listen to my geeky music. But you get the idea of personal widgets in your sidebars. What do you guys think? Below is the set of instructions on how to get personal widgets in your sidebars. The instructions come directly from team.vox posting. Of course if you need help, your vox team and your favorite neighborhood geek is always willing to help.
Widgets, We've Got Widgets
As we promised a few weeks ago, everyone can now put widgets in posts! To add a widget to a post, from the Compose page just click on the Embed button and paste your code in the box that pops up. This button has been in beta for a while now, but now it will appear for everyone to use.
We know you want a widget to your sidebar too, so you can now do that in beta. To add it, be sure you're opted in as a beta tester and head to the Design tab and click on "Customize your sidebars". Check the box next to "Embed" and click on the configure link to add the code and optional title for your widget. For now you can only embed one widget in your sidebar and if it's wider than 160 pixels, it might look all wonky or just not display at all.

Yeap. I added my widget last night.
Thanks for the heads-up! Nice to finally have this option.
:)
Thanks for the 'heads up.'
I've inserted a Splashcast widget (nice thing bout these guys is that the size can be specified) and it seems to work well.
